Duomo • San Lorenzo • San Marco • San Miniato al Monte • Santa Croce • Santa Maria Novella • Santo Spirito • SS Annunziatta

For anyone with the slightest interest in architecture, there are so many astonishingly beautiful and "significant" churches that you could spend many lifetimes here happily exploring the evolution of architectural styles.  It has been such a long time since I first encountered the wonders of Florence, that I have now more or less forgotten which came first and led to which succeeding epitome of whatever.  So I will not attempt to describe that aspect; in any case you can easily find much better academic references with a quick search, so just enjoy.

And of course, there are so many more, but I do not have another lifetime!
