San Marco

San Marco is one of those places that makes me wonder what life would have been like as a monk all those years ago.  How would it have felt to occupy a cell in the company of a Fra Angelico fresco masterpiece and to take a meditative walk around the cloister, equally adorned with frescos?

By the standards of Florence, this is a relatively modest place in terms of size, but it is most definitely worth the equally modest €4 admission fee.

I remembered that the bus stop for the #7 bus to Fiesole had stood just outside when I first visited more than forty years ago; it still does!
