It might not look much at first glance, but its position within the Vista Alegre Park just opposite the SGAE building and the equally robust Music School, brings out the elegance of this deceptively simple, geometric structure. Indeed the two cubes of the Music School and the Centre for Advanced studies provide an interesting contrast between the rugged stonework of the one and the smooth lines of the other.

Plus, it probably helped that this was the only day of sunshine in an otherwise continuous fortnight of torrential Galician rain. Brings out the shadows and generally puts me in a mood more amenable to a positive review.
