Natural History Museum

Another building in the Vista Alegre Park, again by Cesar Portela, which benefits from the peaceful, leafy location and which, on this occasion, also enjoyed glorious (photogenic) sunshine. Only stumbled upon it on my way back to the city centre for lunch as it did not appear in any of the guide books, hopefully more for its recent construction rather than any perceived lack of architectural merit. Unlike the other three modern buildings, this one is finished in timber cladding; not sure how wise that is in such a staggeringly damp climate. Time will tell.
