Sarría is the closest to Santiago
you can start the Camino and still qualify for your pilgrim passport to
heaven. Consequently it has become a rather touristy town, as well
as the start of the "Camino Comercial". Despite that it is still a
pleasant enough place with some very atmospheric churches, monasteries and
cemeteries as well as adequate hotels and restaurants.
