You expect it to be just another anonymous town, marked by the same blob on the map as all the other boring towns of Mauritania; in fact it is located in a stunning position at the foot of the mountains at the beginning of a sea of apparently endless sand dunes...very impressive from above. OK, the town itself is nothing much to write home about, but it is probably one of the more interesting bits of Mauritania as far as landscape goes. Return to Sahara Itinerary 2008►
