Just like Jampey Lhakgang in Bumthang, Kyichu was allegedly built overnight in 659 AD to pin down the recalcitrant demoness who was obstructing the spread of Buddhism throughout the region.  This one pins down her left foot!

Supposedly one of the most beautiful temples in the country, it is certainly a very picturesque location.  Along with the other varieties of renewable energy powered prayer wheels and flags, this one adds an alternative where an old lady sits all day turning a pulley which powers a number of prayer wheels simultaneously; great career choice.
