Although it might be difficult to tell from these pictures, Cedeira is a
rather pleasant coastal town, with traditional buildings fronting the
harbour, a fine selection of restaurants, good food shops, bars and
everything that goes to make a nice little town. The problem was
that, for the entire week we stayed there, it never stopped raining long
enough to venture outside other than to dash across the street from the
car park to the supermarket.
However, the surrounding countryside is rather beautiful, with cliffs
plunging into the foaming ocean, wild goats admiring the view and a
random leg of the Camino adding to the scenery. Apparently Galicia
is famous for the little cruceros which appear at picturesque intervals
as a reminder, if any were needed, that God is everywhere and just as
well given the weather. |
