It was a most enjoyable way to
arrive in Pisa. A pleasant walk from the railway station via
the embankment of the River Arno, the same river which flows through
Florence. As with just about any Tuscan city, you will stumble
upon a number of interesting and probably historically significant
buildings. My particular favourite, the tiny chapel of Santa
Maria del Spina, perched right on the edge of the river.
As with other university cities, a certain
level of political graffiti; unlike other university cities,
exhibiting a total lack of subtlety or ideological insight...or
humour. |
