There is
so much more to Andalucía than the fabulous Granada with its world famous
Alhambra Palace, or even the other major cities of Sevilla and Cordoba with
their own spectacular buildings and atmosphere. From the white hill towns in the
South West of the province, to the seemingly never-ending olive groves of
Jaen this region contains glorious scenery, great food and architecture,
much of it a remnant of their Moorish heritage, but blended with that very
special Spanishness. On the downside, it also
has more than its fair share of tourist tat on the Costa del Sol, but even
there you will find great hotels and scenery, not always tainted by hordes
of package tourists. Unfortunately, wealth is not always a barometer
of taste, so if you go to Marbella expecting class, you will be sadly
disappointed, it is simply more expensive tat, proving the adage that a rich
man is simply a poor man with more money.
This page (like much of Andalucía) still under
construction, but plenty more to come including Sevilla and the other cities
below, amazing troglodyte dwellings in Guadix... but probably not the Costa
del Sol!
