I
spent a thoroughly enjoyable "lunch" of about four hours in this
peaceful piazza watching the world go by with decent food,
reasonable wine, a warm breeze...I had been reluctant to sit down at
that particular restaurant given its inclination towards garish
photographic menus of assorted pizzas and pasta dishes, but it was
such a beautiful and un-touristy location that I eventually, no
doubt encouraged by a raging thirst, succumbed to the temptations of
a long, relaxing lunch. It was a
Sunday afternoon and everybody else seemed to be asleep when I
arrived around two, but then slowly the square came to life as
people arrived for the evening mass, nuns, old ladies, families...
Unfortunately I was so
(uncharacteristically) absorbed by enjoying the moment that I forgot
to take photos! Ah well, have to take a break sometimes,
but I will be back! |
