Another one of those days when it was
definitely worth an early start to enjoy the scenery, mist clearing in the
morning sunlight. Lovely walk through eucalyptus forests. Only
negative bit was the last couple of miles where the Camino is rerouted
round the runway of Lavacolla (Santiago airport) and, in addition to the uphill
walk in the heat of midday, the trees have all been cut down so not even
any shade. I really should have stopped at San Anton, the last bar
before the climb, but at least it made the rather lovely bar/restaurant at
San Paio even more welcome. |
