One
of the very few modern buildings of any architectural merit in the
entire city.
Rather like the Oslo Opera House, it encourages visitors to climb all
over the roof, but unlike Oslo (for obvious climatic reasons) also
includes seating areas on the roof for outdoor performances.
More
like a serious piece of sculpture than a building, I was unable to visit
the interior as it was unfinished...they said.
A
helpful passing workman greeted me cheerily before noting that I really
was not supposed to be wandering about their building site. When I
replied that I just wanted to take some photos, his delightfully Italian
response was: "Oh, that's alright then".
