The Susukino district of Sapporo alone is reputed to house over 4000 assorted night clubs, bars plus countless restaurants.  Besides serving excellent food, providing endless entertainment and a generally good time for the asking, many of the buildings are themselves quite an aesthetic delight.

From Zaha Hadid's contribution to the Kita Club where the seats are, as is her wont, very geometric, but not horizontal which can make for an interesting night out as you slide literally into oblivion as the evening progresses, to King Xmhu where, despite the staggering entrance fee, the drinks are only available from machines, it being far too noisy to make your order heard to bar staff...if there had been any.

On my last visit in 2008, the Kita Club seemed to have been converted into some naff wedding store, but I am sure there are endless alternatives springing up all the time.
