Avila, the most amazing walled city made famous (for me) by C S
Forester's (he of "The African Queen" one of the best movies of all
time fame) "The Gun", the book and the movie actually filmed
against the backdrop of the genuine walls. Made famous,
because it was our "set book" for the year and totally absorbed a
thirteen year old at the time. Amazingly it turned out to be
almost exactly as my tiny adolescent mind had imagined it!
