Florence is one of those cities
which never ceases to amaze. Not only does it have some of the
world's most outstanding artworks, paintings, sculpture, the lot, but
these are often contained within some of the world's most excellent
buildings, each quite perfect in its own right.
And then the spaces between, the public spaces,
piazzas and even just the ordinary streets are quite wonderful. So
it seems a little unfair that they should also have some of the most
spectacular, romantic (in every sense) vistas from and of the
surrounding hills.
It probably helps that the city lies along the
delightful Arno river set amongst the equally delightful rolling hills,
providing a perfect backdrop for all those perfect buildings.
