Mukalla | Khailat Bugshan | Wadi Doan | SE Yemen images
Apparently named after the local Sheikh Bugshan, generous sponsor who builds roads, schools and the sort of thing which you would expect from a legitimate government, but is sadly absent from most developing countries.  Most famous perhaps for the surreal Khailat Palace Hotel, built with a view to the local fashion for pastel shades of wall colouring, but on a rather more impressive scale.  Part of a long day's drive from Mukalla on the coast, to Say'un in Wadi Hadramawt; next time I would allow at least a couple of days with a night at the fantasy hotel to give more time to visit the villages all along the Wadi, including the "Osama Bin Laden" village
