The only indication, although a fairly reliable one, that the Gulf of Cintra is rather beautiful, is the green line along the edge of the road on the Michelin map of Morocco.  (Michelin maps and guides, by the way, are my sole exception to the rule that guides are generally useless).  However, in this case, the subtle green line is an astonishing understatement; the coast at this point is quite breathtaking and almost certainly justifies the drive from Europe as a destination in its own right.  Unfortunately I had not paid for enough days Moroccan insurance and so was compelled to keep moving rather than sit down and enjoy the view...although not until I had at least taken a few photos!
